If you’re looking to buy a home in Columbus in 2025 and you’ve set your budget around or under $300K, you’re in luck. 1. South Linden
South Linden is one of the most affordable pockets in Columbus, with median home values hovering around $134-160K. It’s close to downtown, offers a mix of older houses and value-driven opportunities, and is ideal if you’re a first-time buyer or investor.
2. North Linden
North Linden is evolving and still comfortably under the $300K mark for many homes. Median list prices have been in the $190-200K range. It’s a neighborhood where you can enter the market, build equity, and be part of the turnaround story.
3. Northeast Columbus
Covering a broad swath of value-driven communities, Northeast Columbus has median home prices around $220-230K as of late 2025.  While some homes may creep above $300K, many solid options stay under—giving homebuyers plenty of wiggle room.
4. Argyle Park
Argyle Park sits northeast of Linden and boasts a median home value in the $140-150K range. For budget-conscious buyers who want a neighborhood with character, this is one to explore.
5. Whitehall
Just southeast of downtown Columbus, the suburb of Whitehall is often cited among the “most affordable suburbs of Columbus” with strong value and single-family home options under $300K. This is a smart compromise between city-access and suburban space.
